If you are interested in training historical fencing, also known as HEMA, whether in person, or online - you're in the right spot.

Aleksandar Ristić has been part of the HEMA community for over 10 years, and in fencing more generally nearly twice as long. He's held group and personal sessions for over 8 years.

He's Belgrade's and Serbia's currently longest active longsword instructor. Holds regular trainings in Terca, school of historical fencing. His focus are KDF sources, especially Meyer. Longsword is his primary weapon, but he's also proficient with sabers, rapiers, sideswords, dussacks, long staffs and halberds. He's acquainted with both IPA(Information Processing Approach) and EA(Ecological Approach) and LMA(Liberation Martial Arts) modalities but also other pedagogical approaches outside of purely motor skills learning. Through this he's able to help folks in their understanding and application of historical fencing systems as well as success in modern tournaments, as well as adapting his training to suit the learning style of the student.

In all this time Aleksandar has also held workshops in Serbia, Montenegro, Hungary, Cyprus as well as China. He's also competed in various countries and acted as a judge in just as many tournaments. He has also participated in organizing a number of Terca events such as Swordplay, Balčak, Belgrade Sword Day and is leading the organizing team behind WashFechten.

He also completed a first aid course with other members of the Terce organization held by SUMC. After that, he accompanied and volunteered at the SUMC first aid course at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. You can find out more about the Student Union of Physicians here.
